<br />
First off, my copy of <a href="http://inhermajestysname.wordpress.com/">In Her Majesty's Name</a> finally arrived. Quality is top notch with some beautiful illustrations. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MEawhkzdZ1k/Ug4iXgnucmI/AAAAAAAACnM/zwWX4j7fKz0/s1600/Majesty.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MEawhkzdZ1k/Ug4iXgnucmI/AAAAAAAACnM/zwWX4j7fKz0/s320/Majesty.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
With a quick thumb through the rules the games appears fast and fun! Jet and are planning to give the game a try next week. I'll have a follow up post with our thoughts from our initial findings. <br />
<br />
Over the last week I was able to spend some time at painting table. I didn't complete as many projects as I would have liked but I did dabble in a number of them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TyHUvMhtPTc/Ug4ndWA4LsI/AAAAAAAACnc/j963ihqZe3c/s1600/Gates3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="216" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TyHUvMhtPTc/Ug4ndWA4LsI/AAAAAAAACnc/j963ihqZe3c/s320/Gates3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
One of the items I was able to semi-compete were the fortified walls for the manor. These didn't take to long to paint, mostly a quick dry brush of black to white.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2wgUsfwSJyE/Ug4n7HPw_8I/AAAAAAAACnk/VEdF02cesr8/s1600/Gates4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="174" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2wgUsfwSJyE/Ug4n7HPw_8I/AAAAAAAACnk/VEdF02cesr8/s320/Gates4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The doors were based with GW Scorched Brown to a dry brush of a mix with GW Bleached Bone. I plan on revisiting these walls and picking out some of the details to give them more character.<br />
<br />
I also started in on my <a href="http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440008a&prodId=prod1290008a&amp;_requestid=993469">GW Garden of Morr</a> kit. I obtained this kit in a trade on <a href="http://www.bartertown.com/">Bartertown </a>and I am extremely glad I did. For the type of games we usually play these terrain pieces will get some heavy use. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jz9r3nffcx4/Ug4qGgnTMsI/AAAAAAAACn0/Bp5UzfWuQxM/s1600/Statue.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jz9r3nffcx4/Ug4qGgnTMsI/AAAAAAAACn0/Bp5UzfWuQxM/s320/Statue.jpg" width="317" /></a></div>
The first item I started was the sketelal warrior statue. The statue itself was in two pieces and then joined to the base. With a quick bit of green stuff and some filing the item was complete.<br />
<br />
To keep with the dark dreadful look, I did a dry brush of black to white. I will be revisiting the stature to pick out some of the details such as the skulls, dirt, vegetation, etc. <br />
<br />
I completed the assembly of the mausoleums and painted their bases as well. But I will have a post in the future to cover the Garden and will reveal those pictures then.<br />
<br />
As always thanks for reading,<br />

<br />
I decided to change gears and work on some terrain. Specifically the
Games-Workshop Warhammer Watchtower. The kit was fairly easy to put
together but did require a lot sculpting and green-stuff to fill some of
the gaps.<br />
<br />
I decided to use a similar color
scheme to that of GW's preference. Two others in our gaming group
whom have the tower completed, went with a grey/brownish stone look.
This way mine would be a good contrast.<br />
<br />
The watchtower comes with a smaller "shed" building which I thought would be great to use as a test subject.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ou9pY8lAPvY/UgTOdg1zj4I/AAAAAAAACl8/gWDYEyYkark/s1600/Mini1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ou9pY8lAPvY/UgTOdg1zj4I/AAAAAAAACl8/gWDYEyYkark/s320/Mini1.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-V4kVw_DKlRE/UgTPthMlkKI/AAAAAAAACmM/vI9aAR8CD50/s1600/Mini2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="275" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-V4kVw_DKlRE/UgTPthMlkKI/AAAAAAAACmM/vI9aAR8CD50/s320/Mini2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
With the pilot out of the way, I was happy with the results and decided to move on to the main tower.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v-hQ35Umiq4/UfkZOjs0IyI/AAAAAAAACk4/OQGOCD4Z5Dk/s1600/Tower1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="277" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v-hQ35Umiq4/UfkZOjs0IyI/AAAAAAAACk4/OQGOCD4Z5Dk/s320/Tower1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The
"wall" areas were base coated with GW Vomit Brown. This was then
followed by a wash of GW Gryphon Sepia. Once the wash dried, a dry brush
of GW Dheneb Stone was applied. There was a lot of overlap from the dry-brushing which was cleaned up with a
reapplication of GW Chaos Black.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R4baFH7Hugk/UgTQsDngpbI/AAAAAAAACmY/1R4KHfsIZok/s1600/Tower3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R4baFH7Hugk/UgTQsDngpbI/AAAAAAAACmY/1R4KHfsIZok/s320/Tower3.jpg" width="262" /></a></div>
<br />
After this was completed I dry-brushed the stone with GW Chardon Granite, followed by a light brush of Dhebed Stone.<br />
<br />
<br />
The stone work was dry-brushed with GW Chardon Granite to GW Dhedeb Stone and the metal areas were brushed with GW Boltgun metal. <br />
<br />
I still had a few viewable lines from my "green stuff" areas which I was wanted to hide. Being a watchtower I thought it was only fitting to add some overgrowth to the tower. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-psp12OEsufo/UgTRbfyvwEI/AAAAAAAACmk/cwN13JDCymw/s1600/Tower4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-psp12OEsufo/UgTRbfyvwEI/AAAAAAAACmk/cwN13JDCymw/s320/Tower4.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
I'm not 100% sold on the look yet, and will probably revisit to to adjust. But I think its a start. Maybe a little more growth around the base and connecting up.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5SrsUgeXx-w/UgTRbg9zrGI/AAAAAAAACmo/iGaxZ63l6FM/s1600/Tower5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5SrsUgeXx-w/UgTRbg9zrGI/AAAAAAAACmo/iGaxZ63l6FM/s320/Tower5.jpg" width="277" /></a></div>
<br />
In other news I came across a new ruleset called <a href="http://www.ospreypublishing.com/store/In-Her-Majesty%E2%80%99s-Name_9781780962894">"In Her Majesty's Name"</a> which I quickly ordered.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zPnzQ3S26us/UgTk1a2UdRI/AAAAAAAACm8/WLpMNm-NTDs/s1600/Majesty.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zPnzQ3S26us/UgTk1a2UdRI/AAAAAAAACm8/WLpMNm-NTDs/s320/Majesty.jpg" width="297" /></a></div>
The game takes place in the late Victorian period around 1895 with a steampunk feeling. To quote the <a href="http://inhermajestysname.wordpress.com/">game blog site</a>;<br />
<br />
<br />
<i>"It is a world of heroism, sacrifice and betrayal. Where the Great
Powers, building upon the advances wrought by the success of Charles
Babbage’s calculating engines, have advanced faster than one might have
thought. Where ownership of the latest technological marvel might just
be the thing to build fortunes, destroy empires and win fair ladies.
Where a few men’s pluck and cunning can change the course of history."</i><br />
<br />
Suffice to say Jet and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival to give the rules a go. With our Chaos in Carpathia collections we would have no problem building a few companies for the game.<br />

Back in April I was gearing up for our next adventure of Delves and the rest was a blur! It is crazy how time can pass so quickly.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VZ_Pw-CStCI/UfvKi85RyXI/AAAAAAAAClM/-VisVTJUHss/s1600/DinesyF.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VZ_Pw-CStCI/UfvKi85RyXI/AAAAAAAAClM/-VisVTJUHss/s320/DinesyF.jpg" width="214" /></a></div>
The month of May was engulfed with a first time family visit to Orlando, specifically Disneyland.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WRYR7JWEcAk/UfvLvafF8XI/AAAAAAAAClc/5mp5Xm2OiGc/s1600/Salmon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="186" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WRYR7JWEcAk/UfvLvafF8XI/AAAAAAAAClc/5mp5Xm2OiGc/s320/Salmon.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This was then followed by the conclusion of a three year project at work and of course, the opening of the Atlantic Salmon season. This summer season has definitely been a busy one.<br />
<br />
<br />
Now that the whirlwind has calmed down I am able to get back to the bench from time to time. Progress has been slow, but I am making progress none the less.<br />
<br />
One of the items I have been able to complete was another baddie for our Delves game, scheduled for the fall. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uc-UeCG2-uM/UfvS8TRVXJI/AAAAAAAACls/2wN-EtDA0y0/s1600/Sphinx.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="222" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uc-UeCG2-uM/UfvS8TRVXJI/AAAAAAAACls/2wN-EtDA0y0/s320/Sphinx.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Goal
System Delves at its core wreaks of classic fantasy adventure. As I
have said before the game is a wonderful throw back to everyone's
AD&D days. With that being said what would a classic adventure be
without a riddling Sphinx.<br />
<br />
P.s. I promise the next post will not take as long as this one.<br />

We have planned the next adventure of Delves for May 4th and it seems all involved are growing quite excited. I have been steadily preparing and creating the needed items for the adventure.<br />
<br />
The adventure is going to a throw back to all our RPG roots, taking us back to the "good ole days". There will be a mix of "hack n' slash" and troubling puzzles and riddles.<br />
<br />
Here is a sneak peak of some of the models I'll be using for the next adventure.<br />
<br />
First up is my rendition of the Flesh Golem.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0LHm9Ap78Cw/UXkmwqjK-mI/AAAAAAAACjs/GjOwaksOV1c/s1600/Flesh+Golem2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="270" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0LHm9Ap78Cw/UXkmwqjK-mI/AAAAAAAACjs/GjOwaksOV1c/s320/Flesh+Golem2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is another model from the World of Warcraft Board game by Fantasy Flight Games. He painted up quite nicely and I am happy with the results.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k4W7zLa-gBI/UXknRSHCq2I/AAAAAAAACj8/fHbf-h-K4gg/s1600/Flesh+Golem.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="230" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k4W7zLa-gBI/UXknRSHCq2I/AAAAAAAACj8/fHbf-h-K4gg/s320/Flesh+Golem.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Next we have Kataria the Halfling, another model that was sculpted for Goal System Delves. Suffice to say the players will learn that help can come from the smallest of places.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ezldsj30fDQ/UXkn4AntEVI/AAAAAAAACkE/P6ijuSjKscU/s1600/Halfing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="210" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ezldsj30fDQ/UXkn4AntEVI/AAAAAAAACkE/P6ijuSjKscU/s320/Halfing.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

I have a few irons in the fire with my interested in Pulp Alley and gearing up for my next game of Delves. For today I figured I would focus on my new Pulp Alley league. <i>The Keepers of the North</i>.<br />
<br />
<i>Since the beginning of time Shiva, the Empress of Ice, goddess of cold has protected the great frozen plains of the earth, keeping the elemental balance in check. For every good there is a bad, for every night there is a day, for every desert there is a tundra. </i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Their are many mysteries and myths surrounding the arctic expanse. Many ancient powers and secrets have been told to lie hidden deep within the northern region. Explorers bitten with curse of curiosity have come and gone and those seeking riches have fell to the same fate. But yet they keep returning.....As long as they do the Keepers of the North will be there to protect the secrets that lie within.</i><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9aQz2G_oQJQ/UXACvnxfktI/AAAAAAAACjU/qOPYPWZtiB4/s1600/Yetis1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="203" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9aQz2G_oQJQ/UXACvnxfktI/AAAAAAAACjU/qOPYPWZtiB4/s320/Yetis1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d8k6ov5TvNg/UXADv9hlSkI/AAAAAAAACjc/yJQFNnhTxZM/s1600/Yetis2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d8k6ov5TvNg/UXADv9hlSkI/AAAAAAAACjc/yJQFNnhTxZM/s320/Yetis2.jpg" width="241" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
For this league I wanted to create a more "feral" type of league. As you can see from my abilities they are melee machines. They hit hard and fast. I suspect they will have problems with some perils but I chose the abilities more in the favor of fluff then practicality.<br />

Vladimir Vrex was able to obtain the plutonium needed for his skelebot upgrades. The massing of his army for a global takeover will soon be complete.<br />
<br />
In Vrexs escape with his cache, Gregarious was able to capture one of the Syndicate's skelebots. Calling on one of his many contacts he was able to obtain some valuable information from the memory banks of the evil automation...... <b><i>The location of Vrex's secret lair!</i></b><br />
<br />
Wasting no time The Liberators boarded the<i> "Liberation"</i> plane and headed to coordinates located deep within the German <i>Black Forest</i>.<br />
<br />
Little did Grant know but Vrex was one step ahead and planted the coordinates as trap! The Liberators were about to engage the crazed cult of The MaoTaa....<br />
<br />
<b><u><i>Liberators vs The MaoTaa</i></u></b> <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_Vqm5pY3qvs/UWfxfok-8uI/AAAAAAAACfU/SYS6BimB1v8/s1600/Table.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="229" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_Vqm5pY3qvs/UWfxfok-8uI/AAAAAAAACfU/SYS6BimB1v8/s320/Table.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The Scenario was Race against time. For flavor we decided The MaoTaa would be the defenders and Grant and his Liberators would be the attackers, stumbling on the cult preforming an ancient ritual.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j5p0HIB4oQw/UWfynaAAGzI/AAAAAAAACfg/Upmbe8YrJrw/s1600/MaoTaa+deploy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="278" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j5p0HIB4oQw/UWfynaAAGzI/AAAAAAAACfg/Upmbe8YrJrw/s320/MaoTaa+deploy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The MaoTaa were deployed around the main plot point which was the altar in the center of the table.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sZng_QkgHuQ/UWfzDRFenyI/AAAAAAAACfo/B566K00pRnk/s1600/Lib+Deploy1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sZng_QkgHuQ/UWfzDRFenyI/AAAAAAAACfo/B566K00pRnk/s320/Lib+Deploy1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Grant was deployed to the southeast of the alter with the aid of his hobo whom he befriended in his travels. Lester would later join them as we made a small error in the deployment. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZESuanYkZyM/UWfzj-ug6zI/AAAAAAAACf8/3G6OASQXCDM/s1600/Lib+Deploy2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="226" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZESuanYkZyM/UWfzj-ug6zI/AAAAAAAACf8/3G6OASQXCDM/s320/Lib+Deploy2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The rest of the Liberators (excluding Lester) advanced over the bridge to the east of the Altar. <br />
<br />

The MaoTaa activated first sending Aron the Fanatic who launched his Alchemist Fire at the Liberators. Only to have them all stave off the perilous blast.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RF8wUrw_b0k/UWf59GmredI/AAAAAAAACgU/xNBMN_dJTnA/s1600/MaoTaa+Turn+1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="271" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RF8wUrw_b0k/UWf59GmredI/AAAAAAAACgU/xNBMN_dJTnA/s320/MaoTaa+Turn+1a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Azular raced to the old grey bird to listen to its secrets next turn.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5SujQavekXc/UWf6eHsiPBI/AAAAAAAACgc/iki1ZIsXN-E/s1600/MaoTaa+turn+1b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="236" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5SujQavekXc/UWf6eHsiPBI/AAAAAAAACgc/iki1ZIsXN-E/s320/MaoTaa+turn+1b.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Three of the Fallen headed southeast to head off Grant and tarpit his advance.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-X81amxFUwRI/UWf64h9itGI/AAAAAAAACgk/IdSHeTl4O2o/s1600/MaoTaa+turn+1c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="259" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-X81amxFUwRI/UWf64h9itGI/AAAAAAAACgk/IdSHeTl4O2o/s320/MaoTaa+turn+1c.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Grax and the rest of The Fallen advanced towards main charge of the Liberators. While Abuhar started his incantation of shadows. <i>(Successfully completing the first of three plot point challenges)</i>.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-REDJErTnsbA/UWgHfd1lBQI/AAAAAAAACg0/LleeKwq6p8U/s1600/Lib+Turn1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-REDJErTnsbA/UWgHfd1lBQI/AAAAAAAACg0/LleeKwq6p8U/s320/Lib+Turn1a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Spider, Monique and Yuri activated within the burst of the Alchemist fire. All were unscathed except for Spider who could not combat the peril. Yuri jumped the bridge into cover firing at the guardian wounding him and taking the initiative.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7f6wFk7wlAI/UWgIQSpYbMI/AAAAAAAACg8/RBNW3V_OMME/s1600/Lib+turn+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="249" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7f6wFk7wlAI/UWgIQSpYbMI/AAAAAAAACg8/RBNW3V_OMME/s320/Lib+turn+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Monique used her <i>"burst fire"</i> to target two of the fallen, returning them to the ground from where they came.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RvXjqBKd3Ko/UWgP2m2QXfI/AAAAAAAAChU/3gaiGSDdIiA/s1600/Lib+turn2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>

Lester advanced firing at The Fallen only to have his bullets ring through the hallow skeletons. The deadly accuracy of the undead arrows would prove to much from Lester.<i> (Initiative returns to MaoTaa)</i> The befriended hound charged the undead but The Fallen's blade to end the animals existence. Grant moved towards the plot point hidden in the old shack and took a shot at the lifeless Fallen. But his gun would jam in the frosty climate of the <i>black forest.</i><br />
<br />
<i><u><b>Turn 2</b></u> </i><br />
Recovery checks were made for Grax and Spider. Grax was able to recovery while Spider was not.<br />
<br />
<i></i>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<i> </i>Azular heeded the chaotic wisdom of the old three-eyed bird discovering a plot point.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ccPcNTgXYhM/UWgQpWUGItI/AAAAAAAAChk/X2JMSw1OHNU/s1600/Maa+turn2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="249" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ccPcNTgXYhM/UWgQpWUGItI/AAAAAAAAChk/X2JMSw1OHNU/s320/Maa+turn2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The Fallen moved towards Monique while those with ranged were able to wound the Liberator ally. Abuhar continued his incantation succeeding at the second challenge. The rest of The Fallen back pedaled towards Abuhar, to protect against the interruption of the process.<br />
<br />
Not to be counted out Yuri engaged the guardian Grax with both being wounded in the process.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lDbj8Gmgo9I/UWgTL-IU1OI/AAAAAAAAChs/iReZS5fAs8U/s1600/Lib+turn2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lDbj8Gmgo9I/UWgTL-IU1OI/AAAAAAAAChs/iReZS5fAs8U/s320/Lib+turn2a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Capt Grant rushed the melee undead crushing its bones into the ground.<br />
<br />
<i><u><b>Turn 3</b></u></i><br />
Grax and Yuri attempted there<i><u><b> </b></u></i>recovery checks with Grax recovering (Rough night on the dice for Jet)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Isf5kM9DrTo/UWgVYVdqKYI/AAAAAAAACh4/qpB46rzaJDQ/s1600/Maa+turn3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="229" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Isf5kM9DrTo/UWgVYVdqKYI/AAAAAAAACh4/qpB46rzaJDQ/s320/Maa+turn3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Aron the Fanatic launched its Alchemist fire at Yuri who evaded the peril dodging out of combat. In a turn of fortunes, <i>"Just reward" </i>was played giving the Liberators the initiative. Yuri activated and searched the grave to find a plot point. Grant advanced and fired at one of the ranged Fallen taking it out.<br />
<br />
The other ranged Fallen would fire back at Grant, but the return fire would be to much of a gamble and to dust it returned. Another Fallen would rush to the aid of Abuhar. Grax again engaged Yuri dropping him unconscious. Azular ran to an old wood cellar to find the hidden contents inside.<br />
<br />
Abuhar attempted the 3rd and final challenge only to be stumped on this attempt.<br />
<br />
<i><u><b>Turn 4</b></u></i><br />
Yuri attempted his recovery check and passed returning to D6<br />
<br />
With the initiative Grant activated first with plans to charge Abuhar, but his fortune would not be so as he "<i>tripped up" </i>in the process. Yuri tried to claim the cache he previously held but was unable to pass the challenge.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2cJVLDDKjuc/UWgY8wriNNI/AAAAAAAACiI/vAnocMmvBpc/s1600/Maa+turn+4a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2cJVLDDKjuc/UWgY8wriNNI/AAAAAAAACiI/vAnocMmvBpc/s320/Maa+turn+4a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Azular searched the old wood shed finding the hidden Tome of Shadows and the award of a plot point. Grax and Aron continued to target Yuri wounding him unconscious.Abuhar attempted the final challenge and completed the incantation. <br />
<br />
<i><u><b>Turn 5</b></u></i><br />
Yuri yet again had to make a recovery check but was unable to overcome his wounds and would remain down.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qtbsq4pWL7E/UWgacwZHt8I/AAAAAAAACiU/WddMdLIUc5k/s1600/turn+5a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="211" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qtbsq4pWL7E/UWgacwZHt8I/AAAAAAAACiU/WddMdLIUc5k/s320/turn+5a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Aron turned his attention to Grant and targeted him with the fire, but the rugged veteran would be un-phased by the attack. Abuhar called upon Ahzool's blessing and took on his image to protect the annihilator's gift. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_pQprVIGdXI/UWgajGWH9DI/AAAAAAAACic/1NAQm5hkPsk/s1600/Turn+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_pQprVIGdXI/UWgajGWH9DI/AAAAAAAACic/1NAQm5hkPsk/s320/Turn+5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Grant made his final attempts on the madden cultist but would be unable to pry Ahzool's gift from the acolytes hands.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BouAA_Me1DU/UWgbeyE6BmI/AAAAAAAACik/71I60yoFudw/s1600/Turn+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="178" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BouAA_Me1DU/UWgbeyE6BmI/AAAAAAAACik/71I60yoFudw/s320/Turn+6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<i> </i>The game ended with The MaoTaa in control of the main plot point and two others. The Liberators would survive with no plot points.<br />
<br />
<i>"The madden hackles of Ahzool could be heard deep within the soul of Gregerious Grant. Which shook the Liberator to his core..."</i> <br />
<br />
This game was our first test with the reanimated rule. We found the ability a little powerful when matching dice. We have decided to play the rule that you are unable to match dice with this ability which in turn makes the ability more in line to what it should be.<br />

<br />
The MaoTaa or The Madden Acolytes of The Annihilator Ahzool have but one goal in life, the release of their dark god. The <i>Prophesy of Shadows</i> from the <i>Grimoire of Azhara </i>explains how Ahzool imprisoned himself only to be released on the chosen day of rebirth. On this day all existence will be annihilated only to be reborn, new and in his crazed image. To deem his followers worthy and the day of the rebirth to be true, his worshipers must earn the gift of his return by finding the <i>"key"</i> to his release. This has lead the MaoTaa across the world in search of a way to release Ahzool.<br />
<br />
The MaoTaa do their masters bidding without question or regard for their own life. For Ahzool is the Annihilator of all things and will bring a rebirth to all existence. They follow no mortal and listen only to the many voices of Azhool.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oOKwFV9Y_hE/UWK0Y2G01sI/AAAAAAAACeU/GNBS_n1yBpU/s1600/Cult.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="149" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oOKwFV9Y_hE/UWK0Y2G01sI/AAAAAAAACeU/GNBS_n1yBpU/s320/Cult.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Abuhar is revered by the rest of the MaoTaa as he is the only follower to enter the Halls of Madness and return. He is believed to have been touched by Azhool and granted his dark blessing. <br />
<br />
Azular is the reflection of complete chaos. His devotion to Azhool is unmatched in the MaoTaa. He was able to unlock the reason within the masters madness. This is turn made him a powerful acolyte. <br />
<br />
The Fallen are gifts from Azhool, reanimated in his image to aid in their search for the answer to his release.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-M9a1YANF2FI/UWK6ZUBGK8I/AAAAAAAACe0/cswrBF6rK3A/s1600/Cultdoc1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-M9a1YANF2FI/UWK6ZUBGK8I/AAAAAAAACe0/cswrBF6rK3A/s320/Cultdoc1.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I decided to use the Mastermind perk as I pictured the MaoTaa following direction directly from Azhool and the many madden voices in their head heehee. They are mad after all so their strength would be in numbers. Overlord added the flavor I was looking to achieve with extra followers to aid the cause. Reanimated was a given to aid the undead gifts of Azhool. I wanted to have a few chosen members of the MaoTaa and Company of Heroes did exactly that. <br />
<br />
I am hoping to post a report later this week of the Liberators first encounter with the MaoTaa.<br />

I was able to finish an Oni Mage, which was a model that was sculpted and released for Goal System: Delves.<br />

The model was a lot of fun to paint and is oozing with character.<br />

The rest of the map templates have been cut and are ready to be painted. Also I was able to complete most of the decor to be used as our heroes explore in the adventure.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-E-I2RwKOnXI/UVBbZtwE21I/AAAAAAAACdM/k854DN8TnMU/s1600/Crypts.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="169" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-E-I2RwKOnXI/UVBbZtwE21I/AAAAAAAACdM/k854DN8TnMU/s320/Crypts.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div>
First we have some crypts and grave markers. These pieces are from <a href="http://armorcast.com/store/index.php?cPath=121_44">Armorcast</a> and can be used as is. I may down the road put them on a base and flock, but for now they will suit my needs.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ka2LoO7Mfo8/UVBbbabN9ZI/AAAAAAAACdg/vqhBM74En-g/s1600/Treasure+chests.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ka2LoO7Mfo8/UVBbbabN9ZI/AAAAAAAACdg/vqhBM74En-g/s320/Treasure+chests.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
What would an adventure be with out riches for the heroes to find. These chests are from the old Herosquest game. The others are from a game whose name is eluding me at the moment! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--OLv1eZ2NQ8/UVBbboXM1FI/AAAAAAAACdo/2f1VuZTzylQ/s1600/outhouses.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="191" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--OLv1eZ2NQ8/UVBbboXM1FI/AAAAAAAACdo/2f1VuZTzylQ/s320/outhouses.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
These small building (outbuildings) will come in handy for guard posts or small settlements. These pieces are also <a href="http://armorcast.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=121_155&products_id=1393">Armorcast</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3aRfbn-MdRs/UVBbaBKaWZI/AAAAAAAACdY/PdSKNhrXvE0/s1600/Puzzle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="237" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3aRfbn-MdRs/UVBbaBKaWZI/AAAAAAAACdY/PdSKNhrXvE0/s320/Puzzle.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I don't want to go into much detail about these other then they were scratch built and needed for the adventure. The heroes will have a "puzzling" time with these spheres.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zJpNw0ZcXlM/UVBbZwaD59I/AAAAAAAACdU/LiSQivjOniE/s1600/Porticulis.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="302" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zJpNw0ZcXlM/UVBbZwaD59I/AAAAAAAACdU/LiSQivjOniE/s320/Porticulis.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I needed a portcullis and didn't have one, so I decided to scratch build one. This was quite easy with some popcycle sticks, kabob skewers and a mdf base. Makes for a great primitive portcullis.<br />
<br />
<br />
In other news Jet and I will be playing Pulp Alley tonight so expect another report later this week.<br />

Shredder x3<br />
Forsaken x2<br />
Shepard<br />
Nephilim Soldier<br />
Raek<br />
<br />

Man-o-War Bombardiers<br />
Man-o-War Kovnik<br />
Koldun Lord<br />
<br />
<u><b>Deployment</b></u> <br />
The game started with Corey winning the roll off and choose to let me deploy first. With the Tier list I was able to advance deploy my shredders and advance move two heavy war beasts, the Ravagore and Carnivean. Which was done after the Khador initial deployment.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eGhv157WYpc/UUsZ8Ljx0RI/AAAAAAAACa8/72SeIGVLnYo/s1600/Legion+deploy2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eGhv157WYpc/UUsZ8Ljx0RI/AAAAAAAACa8/72SeIGVLnYo/s320/Legion+deploy2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XL35rbvjli4/UUsZ8BZo7AI/AAAAAAAACbA/6DBQCFntJiA/s1600/Legion+deploy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XL35rbvjli4/UUsZ8BZo7AI/AAAAAAAACbA/6DBQCFntJiA/s320/Legion+deploy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Corey's force was deployed. After my advance moves he proceeded with his.<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<u><b>Turn 1</b></u><br />
Now it was time to get things underway. The Shredders were rushed to the front and loaded with Tenacity. The Ravagore advanced and launched its blast into the Man-o-war unit with the dragon fire animus. The initial target was destroyed with two more catching on fire. The Carnivean, Scythean and Soldier ran up behind the shredders. Two of the forsaken advanced towards the large beasts and absorbed the fury from the Carnivean and Scythean. Absylonia fell in behind the heavies while casting Forced Evolution on the Angelius and Carnivore on the Carnivean.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lCQmICZGoyg/UUscFehvP3I/AAAAAAAACbc/lBkkohZdmes/s1600/Legion+turn+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lCQmICZGoyg/UUscFehvP3I/AAAAAAAACbc/lBkkohZdmes/s320/Legion+turn+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The Khadorian forces advanced closer targeting the shredders with their ranged attacks. Luckily for me the Tenacitys +1 def made all the different with only one Shredder dying due to Karchev's Eruption spell. Also the Carnivean was hit by the Dozer of the Decimater pushing my beast back a inch. This would prove detrimental next turn.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--QDzUzm-BIA/UUsc23qwTuI/AAAAAAAACbk/pZbGNuIpTG0/s1600/Khador+turn1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--QDzUzm-BIA/UUsc23qwTuI/AAAAAAAACbk/pZbGNuIpTG0/s320/Khador+turn1a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Nb2wY9uNnbc/UUsc2xv6UZI/AAAAAAAACbo/il8fD7hAy1o/s1600/Khador+Turn1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Nb2wY9uNnbc/UUsc2xv6UZI/AAAAAAAACbo/il8fD7hAy1o/s320/Khador+Turn1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<u><b>Turn 2</b></u><br />
All spells were upkeep-ed for free due to Absylonia being resourceful. I was unable to reave all the fury from the beasts so the two remaining Shredders were forced to make a bezerker check. Both failed with one charging the Scythean and the other my Raek. Minimal damage was dealt to the Scythean, but the Raek was wounded of its spirit. The Ravagore advanced closer and lobbed another blast into the Man-o-war
unit with more dragon fire. Killing its target and catching two others
on fire. Absylonia then advanced forward applying Massacre to the
Scythean and Carnivean. Tenacity was then applied to the Angelius and
Soldier. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vleDduyyC74/UUsdL0qI8SI/AAAAAAAACb0/5MpBbjhHvsg/s1600/Legion+turn2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vleDduyyC74/UUsdL0qI8SI/AAAAAAAACb0/5MpBbjhHvsg/s320/Legion+turn2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The Carnivean would then attempt to charge the Man-o-war unit BUT due to the dozer hit would be just out of range and left hung out to dry! Brutal! The Scythean then charged the Decimator catching on fire from Eruption in the process. All hits from the Scythean would hit bringing the jack down to a few hits left. The Angelius and Soldier moved to the front of my Warlock and the Raek followed around behind. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zeoUZqfqXOU/UUsf_9sVPzI/AAAAAAAACcE/9tExv76bJ3Q/s1600/legion+turn2b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zeoUZqfqXOU/UUsf_9sVPzI/AAAAAAAACcE/9tExv76bJ3Q/s320/legion+turn2b.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Karchev would activate calling for Unearthly Rage and Tow. He then moved away from the battle taking the wounded Decimator with him. The Battle Mechaniks then surrounded the wounded Man-o-wars and the Decimator and being to repair the wounded. The Berzerker charged the Scythean dealing some good damage. The ranged Man-o-wars and the Greylord Ternion unit then targeted the wounded beast ending its existence. The Kodiak would then charge the Carnivean but in a strange turn of events would be just out of range. (really, two failed charges in one game???)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zbuZEVwBtF8/UUsgrrJNghI/AAAAAAAACcM/_u29_BvQYGY/s1600/Khador+Turn+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zbuZEVwBtF8/UUsgrrJNghI/AAAAAAAACcM/_u29_BvQYGY/s320/Khador+Turn+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<u><b>Turn 3</b></u><br />
Again The Ravagore advanced launching its blast at the Man-o-war unit with Dragon Fire. As before the initial target was destroyed along with a Mechnik. Absylonia would activate passing around Massacre to the Soldier and Angelius. Tenacity was then applied to Angelius and the Carnivean. The Soldier then charge the Man-o-war killing it with two strikes. The Carnivean tore into a Man-o-war destroying it and finishing its attacks on the Kodiak doing some heavy damage. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gfxsIxPD568/UUsiduh6p0I/AAAAAAAACcU/wnrUzzKrclQ/s1600/Legion+turn+3a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gfxsIxPD568/UUsiduh6p0I/AAAAAAAACcU/wnrUzzKrclQ/s320/Legion+turn+3a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The Angelius charged the Bezerker doing massive damage with its armor piercing attack. It continued to attack both the Kodiak and Bezerker leaving both with only a few hit points. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oB_0nO_HW_I/UUsiduij37I/AAAAAAAACcY/_EUfuUH4QCk/s1600/Legion+Turn+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oB_0nO_HW_I/UUsiduij37I/AAAAAAAACcY/_EUfuUH4QCk/s320/Legion+Turn+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
With all its jacks damaged heavily the Khador force had to act. Avoiding all the melee frenzy the Khadorian force focused on Absylonia with its ranged attacks. The available Bombardiers fired at my Warlock with some minor damage inflicted. The Greylord unit would do the same with similar results. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FFptHS4Zea8/UUslhORS-zI/AAAAAAAACck/8H94T0cxqCw/s1600/Khador+turn+3a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="209" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FFptHS4Zea8/UUslhORS-zI/AAAAAAAACck/8H94T0cxqCw/s320/Khador+turn+3a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
It came down to Karchev who fired its Fissue killing a few of its own
models in the process but more importantly knocking down a few of my
models. This opened the lane for his Eruption spell and targeted my
Warlock. Karchev would boost to hit and just get Abyslonia. With a
boosted damage roll she would go down. Khador win. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jUykjbec9hU/UUslhLGB7QI/AAAAAAAACco/kO9rDMjUWIc/s1600/Khador+turn+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jUykjbec9hU/UUslhLGB7QI/AAAAAAAACco/kO9rDMjUWIc/s320/Khador+turn+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I overestimated the ranged ability of the Khador force, but like anything you live and learn!<br />
<br />
Here's to the winner of the battle....but certainly not the war!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0Sq4LYgAcHc/UUsozbR1efI/AAAAAAAACc0/gpt0Xgs6lZE/s1600/Karchev.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="273" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0Sq4LYgAcHc/UUsozbR1efI/AAAAAAAACc0/gpt0Xgs6lZE/s320/Karchev.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

The common statement when playing Delves is its ability to take gamers back to their roots, usually AD&D. It is with that in mind that the next adventure will be a mix of my favorite D&D adventures from the past.<br />
<br />
As I started to plan the adventure I soon found that it took on a mind of its own and now its more of a project then anything. But like any war-gamer I'm enjoying every moment. <br />
<br />
Without giving to much away this adventure will be a good mix of traps, puzzles, and combat, which would make any adventure fun and exciting.<br />
<br />
For this adventure I wanted to reveal the map as the adventurers explored the area. To do this I decided to use 8th inch mdf. I cut the pathway sections into 2.5 inch widths and at different lengths. This way I will reveal sections of the map for the players to explore. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VxSIEW4uq0Q/UUiG26dFR2I/AAAAAAAACac/-1IrreaHXDc/s1600/Template1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VxSIEW4uq0Q/UUiG26dFR2I/AAAAAAAACac/-1IrreaHXDc/s320/Template1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The larger areas will be used for rooms, caverns or whatever I need. I decided to add a few cardboard squares to each template to kinda represent an underground corridor (jury is still out if I like the look) and then sanded around them to add texture to the surface.I then dry brushed the sand to match my table. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r-RJzh3-NIQ/UUiHuYW8gWI/AAAAAAAACao/DQpvqM_8Zf8/s1600/Template2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r-RJzh3-NIQ/UUiHuYW8gWI/AAAAAAAACao/DQpvqM_8Zf8/s320/Template2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
One thing I did find with the larger pieces is that they warped with the watered down glue for the sand. I have tried brushing the underside with waterdown paint and stacking heavy books on them but they would still warp. To address this issue I spray painted the larger pieces with urban textured paint followed by a dusting of matte black. It doesn't look as nice as the other pieces but will do the job and won't warp.<br />
<br />
I'm about half done and hoping to have the other half down by the end of the week. What I like most about these is they will come in handy for numerous other games I play.<br />
<br />
P.s. if anyone has any idea how to prevent warping of the larger pieces I would love to hear about it.<br />
<br />
<br />
Cheers and thanks for reading,<br />

Sinister Syndicate Last week Jet and I were able to get together for a game of Pulp Alley. We both were looking for to trying out the game again. We only managed to play it a few times before our gaming time had to take a back seat to other responsibilities.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eTs21mQj9H0/UT9VhYRf2JI/AAAAAAAACYM/sKcrv1HvcVk/s1600/table1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eTs21mQj9H0/UT9VhYRf2JI/AAAAAAAACYM/sKcrv1HvcVk/s320/table1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Jet hosted, and the table setup was his masterpiece. He has quite the selection of terrain to add to any gaming table. The buildings were scratch built with cardboard, amazing stuff.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ESN9caXIDdU/UT9VhDWoE1I/AAAAAAAACYU/UdGeJA9y2NE/s1600/Table+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="278" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ESN9caXIDdU/UT9VhDWoE1I/AAAAAAAACYU/UdGeJA9y2NE/s320/Table+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The interiors were deployed and could be accessed when you enter a crypt. To keep the game flowing he thought it best to have all the interiors met up for easy access for all players.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F32n6IqJZ3s/UT9VhP-6v7I/AAAAAAAACYQ/fwcJYpCjbAo/s1600/Table+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F32n6IqJZ3s/UT9VhP-6v7I/AAAAAAAACYQ/fwcJYpCjbAo/s320/Table+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The main plot point was the center statue in the garden. Since we were playing on a smaller surface we decided the west side of the board wouldn't count against plot point deployment. I deployed the two tall statues, one next to the smaller crypt and the other next to the graves. Jet deployed to grave markers, one above the main plot point and the other was deployed closer to a crypt on his side of the table. <br />
<br />
The game was started. We both chose not to use any points from our pot, just the abilities that our characters had. Captain Grant, leader of the Liberators had the <i>"Network of Supports" </i> perk and rolled 3 goals and chose the <i>"Lucky Devil" </i>ability. Vladimir Vrex, the Crimson Professor, leader of the Sinister Syndicate had the <i>"Bastion of Science" </i>perk and rolled 3 goals as well. Vladimir enhanced one of his Skelebots with <i>"Gadget X and a Utility Belt". </i>He then pocketed a smoke grenade if his plans are foiled. The Professor also had the <i>"Wealth" </i>ability and chose the aid of a level one follower, Wach. One of the Professor's deadly hounds.<br />
<br />
The Liberators won the initiative and choose to let the Syndicate to start activating characters.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ONVlC1xGcHg/UT9fR1nkT2I/AAAAAAAACYk/NhiZLn6c90Y/s1600/Turn+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ONVlC1xGcHg/UT9fR1nkT2I/AAAAAAAACYk/NhiZLn6c90Y/s320/Turn+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The upgraded Skelebot ran to the first plot point while its counterpart rushed behind the larger crypt to take up a firing lane.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7rMbvEhIbpQ/UT9fRz8SifI/AAAAAAAACY0/6n0Jj6Pknn4/s1600/Turn+1b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7rMbvEhIbpQ/UT9fRz8SifI/AAAAAAAACY0/6n0Jj6Pknn4/s320/Turn+1b.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The Crimson Professor advanced to the main plot point to search next turn.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iLcKmsJA08A/UT9fR8ZM7DI/AAAAAAAACY4/OeZD_l-NH9s/s1600/Turn+1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iLcKmsJA08A/UT9fR8ZM7DI/AAAAAAAACY4/OeZD_l-NH9s/s320/Turn+1a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Boris headed to the other plot point aided by Kaiser and Wach.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4zNJa6NMaF8/UT9olreO3TI/AAAAAAAACZE/uAafZt1-1BQ/s1600/Turn2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4zNJa6NMaF8/UT9olreO3TI/AAAAAAAACZE/uAafZt1-1BQ/s320/Turn2a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
To end things for turn one Captain Grant quickly raced to the plot point to the west, while Lester hurried to the other plot point. Monique headed to cover behind the trees Yuri advanced to the main plot point.<br />
<br />
The Liberators still had the imitative and again allowed the Sinister Syndicate to go first. Vladimir started by moving from charge range of Captain Grant and explored the main objective, but did not find success. Continuing to let me activate, both hounds charged Yuri dealing no damage. The Skelebot advanced out of cover and took aim at Lester, but the return fire would hit the Skelebot damaging the ally.<br />
<br />
Jet then stepped in and activated Monique who had the <i>"Burst Fire" </i>ability. He placed his blast template over the hounds taking out one of them from the peril and then activated Yuri. He then searched the main plot point but failed to find the hidden plans.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zxfYlSrCkoM/UT9olpStyjI/AAAAAAAACZI/f5Hdwz0orYw/s1600/Turn2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zxfYlSrCkoM/UT9olpStyjI/AAAAAAAACZI/f5Hdwz0orYw/s320/Turn2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1kq7c40Ff6k/UT9olxS6_cI/AAAAAAAACZA/ipJKiyhNoew/s1600/Turn2b+fail+plot+roll.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1kq7c40Ff6k/UT9olxS6_cI/AAAAAAAACZA/ipJKiyhNoew/s320/Turn2b+fail+plot+roll.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Again the Liberators allowed the Syndicate to activate and Boris searched his plot point. Luckily for the Professor his sidekick was able to find the weapons stash. Vladimir then passed the initiative back to the Captain. Grant then searched for a stash of his own but was unable to find the secret switch. Allowing the Liberators to continue Lester then investigated the grave discovering its plot point taking the initiative.<br />
<br />
The Liberators had activated all their personnel, and were forced to allow the Sinister Syndicate to activate. The final Skelebot searched the ancient statue. With the aid of gadget X the robot was able to obtain the plot point that was hidden inside.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-u2NptCG1ehQ/UT9v2yQBoXI/AAAAAAAACZo/GGuzKgNC6sw/s1600/Turn+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-u2NptCG1ehQ/UT9v2yQBoXI/AAAAAAAACZo/GGuzKgNC6sw/s320/Turn+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The Skelebot tried to repair its damage but was unable to do so and fell to the ground. The next turn Boris rushed Yuri with fists flying. Yuri quickly evaded the blows. Kaiser then lunged at Yuri missing as well. The Liberators were then allowed to activate and Monique dropped another template taking out Kaiser in the process.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8i1R_xgXkNY/UT9v23dj6MI/AAAAAAAACZs/rPc0vzlIBF0/s1600/Turn+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8i1R_xgXkNY/UT9v23dj6MI/AAAAAAAACZs/rPc0vzlIBF0/s320/Turn+4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The Liberators continued their move and sent Lester to cover with his plot point.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B3xmmJF4-Jg/UT9v3snFw9I/AAAAAAAACZ4/9pXqXkNfC6w/s1600/Turn+4b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B3xmmJF4-Jg/UT9v3snFw9I/AAAAAAAACZ4/9pXqXkNfC6w/s320/Turn+4b.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The Captain then activated and charged Boris landing a hit, wounding him and taking the initiative. The Liberators had activated everyone and passed the turn to Syndicate. The Professor again searched the main plot point, but this time finding what was inside and regaining the initiative.<br />

The Skelebot opt'd to stay in cover and protect the plot point.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KoWS65gwMQI/UT9y2AGWOKI/AAAAAAAACaA/xnnW29J71Z4/s1600/Turn+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KoWS65gwMQI/UT9y2AGWOKI/AAAAAAAACaA/xnnW29J71Z4/s320/Turn+5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The next turn The Professor engaged Monquie to try and put a end to her <i>"Burst Fire" </i>and was able to wound the female sniper. Boris threw a haymaker but was unable to connect with the wiry Yuri. The Liberators then activated and Grant rushed to the aid of Monique wounding Vladimir Vrex. He then allowed the Syndicate to activate and the last Skelebot dashed up behind the crypt to try and aid its maker.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The final turn saw Monique wounded in the attack from the Skelebot but not before she was able to bash the robot who then dropped its important cargo. The attacks continued on all sides with none being wounded.<br />
<br />
The game ended with a 4 to 1 victory for the Sinister Syndicate. Great game and look forward to playing Pulp Alley a lot more.<br />
<br />
P.s. It should be noted that we played two games, one of which the Liberators were able to claim victory.<br />
<br />
As always thanks for reading,<br />

As I've been gathering my ideas for the next Delves adventure I decided to finish my <a href="http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440008a&prodId=prod1095516">GW Fences</a>. <br />
I had a lot of fun painting these terrain pieces as most aspects were dry brushed and made for quick easy results. As the plans for the next Delves adventure are unfolding I am discovering its turning into more of a project then a gaming session. Lets just say some new terrain is in order. I hoping it turns out as well as it looks in my mind.<br />
<br />
As things progress I will supply updates when possible.<br />

Legion<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Before I go on to the Warmachine Battle rep. I wanted to let you all know we were able to finished the final battle of our Journeyman Tourney. Unfortunately my log file was corrupted and I was unable to gather any screen shots of the remaining battle<i>, </i>but here is a quick break down. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The following turn everyone advanced closer to the center to capture the objective, but the Khador player who was last brought out some "tom foolery". In a gutsy move, Corey sent his caster close to the center and popped his feat which made all targets in his line of sight and control area stationary, this included my warlock. Suffice to say he was able to bring the pain and dropped my caster. Legion was the first army off the board. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As the turns progressed the Menoth and Khador factions were able to twart the Cryx opponent leaving both human races to fight. In the end it would be Khador standing tall taking the objective. In sportsman like fashion the Khadorian forces did not want to dispatch of the Menoth caster.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The final tally for the tournament would be a tie for first between Protectorate of Menoth and Khador. A great tournament had by all, with a new one on the horizon. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Over the weekend I was able to get in a game of Warmachine against Marc and Cryx army. Unfortunately I forgot my camera, but Marc was able to take a few snaps with his phone. It was a 50 point game with the following lists.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Shredder x3<br />
Naga Nightlurker<br />
Raek<br />
Nephilim Soldier<br />
Forsaken x2<br />
Blighted Nyss Shephard<br />
<br />
Marc won the roll off and decided to deploy and play first. One the first turn he basically ran everything up the middle around Terminus. The Sea Raiders took up the flank on the left. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DW1G4clUSUs/USJdRFYMTOI/AAAAAAAACTU/tRkEPy6xlEQ/s1600/cryx.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DW1G4clUSUs/USJdRFYMTOI/AAAAAAAACTU/tRkEPy6xlEQ/s320/cryx.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I deployed most of my guys across a line for more coverage. Due to having a T4 list with Abby I was able to advance deploy my Shredders and the Scythean and Typhon were able to advance move due to having two forsaken. On my first turn I launched the Shredders out to the front line. The Raek and Soldier were placed to the front as well. The Scythean and Typhon followed in behind. My Ravagore advanced and shot a blast into the Mechanithralls, only to be saved my Terminus<i>'</i> power to give them tough. Suffice to say I would grow to hate that power as the night progressed.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Kl9xcObh5sE/USJd6mEXneI/AAAAAAAACTk/LRgiLwI6ZWI/s1600/Legion.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Kl9xcObh5sE/USJd6mEXneI/AAAAAAAACTk/LRgiLwI6ZWI/s320/Legion.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-__eTKrLCQD8/USJhNLcJO2I/AAAAAAAACT8/n0WKeyOEzlc/s1600/Legion2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-__eTKrLCQD8/USJhNLcJO2I/AAAAAAAACT8/n0WKeyOEzlc/s320/Legion2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Turn two for the Cryx was a blood bath. The Sea Raiders rushed in and took out one of my Shredders and brought my Soldier down to 3 hit points. The Bane Knights destroyed the other two Shredders and my Raek. The game appeared to be getting away from me quickly. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jWrjT7-5PsQ/USJdUxy4miI/AAAAAAAACTc/jxoXxt5CPQs/s1600/Cryx2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jWrjT7-5PsQ/USJdUxy4miI/AAAAAAAACTc/jxoXxt5CPQs/s320/Cryx2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2rPmE_y1NjY/USJhDKRamXI/AAAAAAAACT0/M3oUpG_gHq0/s1600/Turn+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2rPmE_y1NjY/USJhDKRamXI/AAAAAAAACT0/M3oUpG_gHq0/s320/Turn+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/---38KYDYlRE/USJhhplRymI/AAAAAAAACUE/Eot2mhN1OyM/s1600/Turn2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/---38KYDYlRE/USJhhplRymI/AAAAAAAACUE/Eot2mhN1OyM/s320/Turn2a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
But there was a glimmer of light. On my turn I was able to advance my Forsaken close enough to the Sea Raiders and popped its Blight Shroud, which had 4 fury from the previous turn. The effect was able to hit each Sea Raider taking them all out but the Sea Witch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FCdkR34OvX8/USJgp82qDxI/AAAAAAAACTs/0Mr_-zAnC10/s1600/Turn2c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FCdkR34OvX8/USJgp82qDxI/AAAAAAAACTs/0Mr_-zAnC10/s320/Turn2c.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The Ravagore blasted a large enough hole in the Bane Knights for the Scythean to charge the Deathjack. Two knights did survive due to Terminus tough power...Grrrr. The beast changed in hitting solidly with both attacks which activated the chain attack. In that attack the Scythean was able to drop a few Mechanithralls and another Bane Knight and was then able to finish off the Deathjack.<br />
<br />
The following turn Marc was able to dispatch of the Scythean, the Nephilim Soldier and almost took out Typhon as well. But luckily Typhon survived and was able to take down Terminus the next turn.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--CJxsfh4ELQ/USJjAYV6jlI/AAAAAAAACUQ/0csYQp99CQ4/s1600/end+game.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--CJxsfh4ELQ/USJjAYV6jlI/AAAAAAAACUQ/0csYQp99CQ4/s320/end+game.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It was a great game and the first time I was able to play Warmachine on the tabletop in sometime, which was awesome. Playing against a caster like Terminus was fantastic. It was something I haven't faced before and the model is insane to look at. Next time I'll be sure bring my camera and get a close up shot of that badboy. <br />
<br />
Until next time!<br />

Due to players living in different communities (one on the other side of the country) we have opted to play each game using the Warmachine mod for <a href="http://www.vassalengine.org/">Vassal</a>. If you haven't checked it out it has quite a variety of mods for board and miniature games. The application works great for this situation as you have the option to play via email with log files or play the game live if scheduling permits. </span><br />
<b><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></b>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We decided to keep things relatively small with four players. Khador played by Corey, Cryx played by Shannon, Protectorate of Menoth played by Steve and Legion of Everblight played by myself. The tournament consisted of six rounds with each faction playing the other once. The first round consisted of the faction starter followed by point increases in each round to be added to the army. The final round pits each faction against each other in a Mosh Pit scenario. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Here is how things are shaping up after five rounds. Three points were awarded for winning the match and one for the loss. The current standings are as follows;</span><br />
<b><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></b>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Legion of Everblight: </b>31 points</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Protectorate of Menoth: </b>31 points</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Cryx: </b>29 points</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Khador:</b> 29 points</span><br />
<b><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></b>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">First - 9 points, Second - 7 points, Third - 5 points and Forth - 3 points</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Keeping formation the Everblight army marched toward the center objective. <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Khador issued the Widow Makers to move to cover and take aim at the Everblight Legionaires, taking down three in the process. The Assault Kommandos ran toward the center objective, while the Winter Guard took a wide formation and advanced towards the Everblight army. Scorcha and her warjacks took the left flank for protection. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Menoth slowly advanced the Flameguard and issued the Sheild Wall order. The daughters joined them closer to the objective. <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The Blighted Legionaries marched further towards the Khadorian forces forming a defensive line. The Ravagores advanced lobbing their fiery</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> blast into the Khador faction,</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> taking out two Widow Makers and knocking down two Winter Guard due to tough. <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Cryx sent the Cankerworm to creep towards the holy zealots. <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The Khadorian Assault Kommandos and Juggernaut were ordered towards the center objective while the Winter guard advanced on the Blighted Legionaries. In a strange turn of events the Widow Makers turned and gunned down two of their Assault Kommandos. (A move related to the mission scenario</span><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> no doubt) Sorcha and the Destroyer continued its path, edging closer to the center....it appears an alliance has been formed between the two human races.</span><br />

It has been a hectic couple of weeks between work and home. It was busy enough that my geeking had to take a back seat to everything else. But I am back :-)<br />
<br />
Over the past while I was able to finish off another warbeast for my Legion army, the Ravagore. This model will also be used for the next Delves adventure, the Darkfire Lizard.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6n8VgYJVPzg/URE7rGlSI7I/AAAAAAAACIk/YvSxIymIAV8/s1600/Ravagore.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="274" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6n8VgYJVPzg/URE7rGlSI7I/AAAAAAAACIk/YvSxIymIAV8/s320/Ravagore.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I noticed after I took the pictures that I completely forgot to finish the dry brushing on the base, please forgive me :-). I did this guy a little different then the Scythean as I found the layers on the skin tone kind of washed together and didn't really bring out the details like I wanted.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Heqvta_jw4o/URE7sAcIjfI/AAAAAAAACI0/_4NVoEk6hDQ/s1600/ravagore2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="292" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Heqvta_jw4o/URE7sAcIjfI/AAAAAAAACI0/_4NVoEk6hDQ/s320/ravagore2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
For the Ravagore I started with a darker base, P3 Sanguin Base followed by the same formula I did with the Scythean. GW Scab Red to GW Red Gore. Followed by a mix of GW Red Gore and GW Blood Red to a highlight of just GW Blood Red. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wl8fQvDQbHk/URE7rM6bUHI/AAAAAAAACIs/yDQj2g4C3Ag/s1600/Ravagore3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wl8fQvDQbHk/URE7rM6bUHI/AAAAAAAACIs/yDQj2g4C3Ag/s320/Ravagore3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The armor, claws and carapace were done the same as the Scythean but I did a little heavier highlight with the GW Bleached Bone to give the model more of a rugged aged look. The fire was based with GW Regal Blue, followed by a layer of GW Enchanted Blue. The top highlight was done with GW Ice Blue to a mix with GW Skull White.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_sGlADheQUg/URE7rQ0F6gI/AAAAAAAACIo/TOAomuFUjdw/s1600/Twin+Towers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="242" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_sGlADheQUg/URE7rQ0F6gI/AAAAAAAACIo/TOAomuFUjdw/s320/Twin+Towers.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
You can see the drastic differences in the skin tones on both the models. In my own personal opinion the Ravagore looks better to me. What do you think?<br />

The reason was two fold. The Scythean is a melee machine and will get a lot of playtime in my Horde games and the model is needed for my next adventure of Delves. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lwrbYDBOQdI/UQJ2Fjmx0ZI/AAAAAAAACHQ/I1WqTQnkTmg/s1600/Scythean.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="287" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lwrbYDBOQdI/UQJ2Fjmx0ZI/AAAAAAAACHQ/I1WqTQnkTmg/s320/Scythean.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The process for this guy was pretty simple. The carapace and claws were based with GW Scorched Brown and then dry brushed with a layer of GW Bestial Brown, followed by a mix of GW Graveyard earth and GW Bleached Bone. With a final touch of GW Bleached Bone. This was done first as as their was no worry of messing up another part of the model.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sohZ3HdNR34/UQJ2GU-d4GI/AAAAAAAACHg/GNH4B7vCBGU/s1600/Scythean2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="287" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sohZ3HdNR34/UQJ2GU-d4GI/AAAAAAAACHg/GNH4B7vCBGU/s320/Scythean2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The skin was based with GW Scab Red. A layer of GW Red Gore was then applied halfway down each recess and to all the raised areas. The next layer was a mix of GW Red Gore and GW Blood Red which was applied to the raised areas. The final hightlight of GW Blood Red was used in select areas. The base was painted black and dry brushed with a white mix in a progressive fashion.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CFkR_ZMDa0c/UQJ2Fy4n6YI/AAAAAAAACHU/E2jDleYJ_AU/s1600/Scythean3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="259" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CFkR_ZMDa0c/UQJ2Fy4n6YI/AAAAAAAACHU/E2jDleYJ_AU/s320/Scythean3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

I was quite surprised by how fluid and fun the system was. The combination of different dice sizes and fortune cards made the game exciting and strategic. If you would like to find out more of the Pulp Alley <a href="http://pulpalley.com/">rule-set</a> you can check it out here. <br />
<br />
Having the Professor the mastermind behind the league, some muscle was needed for protection. The side-kick Boris more then fills that roll.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6E1_YZI9qr8/UP1jgC0wBTI/AAAAAAAACE4/SaCoFW_w-08/s1600/Boris3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="287" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6E1_YZI9qr8/UP1jgC0wBTI/AAAAAAAACE4/SaCoFW_w-08/s320/Boris3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I created Boris to be focus on the physical aspects of the game, allowing him to deal with all combat situations in Pulp Alley. The combination of <i>"Muscles of Steel"</i> and <i>"Fierce"</i> makes Boris extremely deadly in melee.<br />
<br />
After Boris was finished it practically completed my league. I decided to use a dog as a follower, one of which I already had painted for Chaos in Carpathia.<br />

P.s. I should mention that the Professor and his gang did marvelous, winning both games. It was our first try at the system so I suspect, Cap't Grant and his Liberators will be back to foil my evil plans..... <br />

Specifically designed by the Professor for ranged combat with deadly accuracy. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zAgC-ZqPmTU/UPqf5nmcN8I/AAAAAAAACCw/NCRB6ATWPNc/s1600/skelebot1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="250" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zAgC-ZqPmTU/UPqf5nmcN8I/AAAAAAAACCw/NCRB6ATWPNc/s320/skelebot1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Mass production of the model was foiled by the foul Liberators, lead by
Cap't Gregarious Grant. But the Professor was able to escape with a few
bodyguard models.<br />
<br />

We decided we would like to try out the rule-set as we've both were interested in the pulp genre. This leads to our first game this coming Saturday. <br />
<br />
Each player creates a league usually consisting of 3-10 models, depending on your configuration. They usually include a leader, a side kick, a couple of allies, and a few followers.<br />
<br />
For this post I will focus on the leader of my league, <b><i>Vladamir Vrex, The Crimson Professor</i></b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jHHZF7jVT7s/UPgNtmwLKSI/AAAAAAAACBs/PZ4cSZXzgUI/s1600/Doc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jHHZF7jVT7s/UPgNtmwLKSI/AAAAAAAACBs/PZ4cSZXzgUI/s320/Doc.jpg" width="267" /></a></div>
<br />
The focus of the league will be around the professor and his ability to support the league. I have also chosen theBastion of Science perk to aid the league with his evil inventions. Vladamir will be cunning based, with abilities focused on Wealth, Clever and Shrewd. <br />
<br />
Stay tuned for the next post of an ally, <b><i>The Skelebot 1000</i></b>. One of Professor's greatest creations.<br />

The first project on the list to complete was a unit of heavy cavalry for my Teutonic Knights, specifically the Order Knights.<br />
<br />
I decided for this entry I would post a few pictures of the layering process of the unit. A base-coat of P3 Hammerfall Khaki was applied to the comparison, lance and shield.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PE1yiU7Mjzs/UPN-Rf-LvAI/AAAAAAAAB94/0JvzRkkDx5E/s1600/Order+first+layer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="281" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PE1yiU7Mjzs/UPN-Rf-LvAI/AAAAAAAAB94/0JvzRkkDx5E/s320/Order+first+layer.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
P3 Menoth White Base was used for the next layer. The paint was applied about half-way down the recesses up to the raised areas. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6-3Sz9INL7U/UPN-Rd7MQFI/AAAAAAAAB98/y2q-tqHSVHQ/s1600/Order+Layer+two.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6-3Sz9INL7U/UPN-Rd7MQFI/AAAAAAAAB98/y2q-tqHSVHQ/s320/Order+Layer+two.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J2THXeoz9yc/UPVf69XB-oI/AAAAAAAAB_M/EVoltl2zMBo/s1600/IMG_7975.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qAVgNxCKksU/UPVf8MWUjJI/AAAAAAAAB_c/HfPjNk7MsCc/s1600/Layer+Three1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
P3 Menoth White Highlight was then used for the highlight layer. All the raised areas were covered.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fwsZcrIp12o/UPVf6sowKBI/AAAAAAAAB_I/VnZ2PRFBo4k/s1600/Layer+Three.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fwsZcrIp12o/UPVf6sowKBI/AAAAAAAAB_I/VnZ2PRFBo4k/s320/Layer+Three.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-96wKVH0mwCg/UPVg1eyfhkI/AAAAAAAAB_o/_A-6riysXHc/s1600/knights2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
I painted the center knight a little different as I may use him as a second general if needed. The crosses were painted with GW Chaos Black, with a center layer of GW
Chardon Granite. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jf63ueUtwSg/UPVg18ByojI/AAAAAAAAB_s/-2YhcEG67Yc/s1600/Knights1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jf63ueUtwSg/UPVg18ByojI/AAAAAAAAB_s/-2YhcEG67Yc/s320/Knights1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The base was sanded and flocked, leaving a few gaps for the ground. The gaps were painted
with GW Scorched Brown, followed by a dry brush of GW Bestial Brown. A
highlight dry brush of GW Bleached Bone finished the unit. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-96wKVH0mwCg/UPVg1eyfhkI/AAAAAAAAB_o/_A-6riysXHc/s1600/knights2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-96wKVH0mwCg/UPVg1eyfhkI/AAAAAAAAB_o/_A-6riysXHc/s320/knights2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

This year our family traveled to the west coast of our province to spend Christmas with my in-laws. Then it was off to my parents house in central for New years.<br />
<br />
Below is a quick shot of the snow storm we ran into on the way. Luckily the winds were down, and with 4-wheel drive we all arrived safely.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FV98Nk5348k/UOctqWbB9HI/AAAAAAAAB6o/MXYUiW0tRYs/s1600/Snow+Storm.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FV98Nk5348k/UOctqWbB9HI/AAAAAAAAB6o/MXYUiW0tRYs/s320/Snow+Storm.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Its always nice when we are able to head home and visit family and friends we haven't seen in a while. One thing I really enjoy about heading home is taking a day to head out with nature to do some angling and hunting. With angling season not opening until February some moose hunting was in order. We didn't get our moose but was a great day in the woods all the same. <br />
<br />
At my parents house we can leave right from their driveway on Snowmobile or Quad to head out in the country. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xHMjynkEz64/UOcqp6tti6I/AAAAAAAAB40/vylzdGwRp8s/s1600/Quad.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xHMjynkEz64/UOcqp6tti6I/AAAAAAAAB40/vylzdGwRp8s/s320/Quad.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Of course while I was home I took advantage taking a few trips up the "track" with Dad and Emma. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J1VeJzKhkCE/UOcqpsxgyjI/AAAAAAAAB4w/3wb1w13wEn8/s1600/Group+shot+quad.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J1VeJzKhkCE/UOcqpsxgyjI/AAAAAAAAB4w/3wb1w13wEn8/s320/Group+shot+quad.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hBDC7wlGlOg/UOcqkbzx50I/AAAAAAAAB4g/CUpeoVG75wg/s1600/Emma+Quad.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hBDC7wlGlOg/UOcqkbzx50I/AAAAAAAAB4g/CUpeoVG75wg/s320/Emma+Quad.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
One of the trips we took was after a fresh snow fall. We were able to find some fresh moose tracks and a rabbit in the trail, which Emma was ecstatic to see. Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to get a picture of the bunny but I did get the tracks.You can see them if you look hard enough.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7VbKpOSGhL0/UOcsxxXBGCI/AAAAAAAAB6M/fBLPuBO6MSw/s1600/Rabbit+tracks.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7VbKpOSGhL0/UOcsxxXBGCI/AAAAAAAAB6M/fBLPuBO6MSw/s320/Rabbit+tracks.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I had the pleasure of meeting Paul, my cousin Marcia's fiance while we were home. They were visiting from London, England. Paul was never on Snowmobile before so we had to change that. Suffice to say he thoroughly enjoyed himself.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wSOSBfTRS3s/UOcslqDAGFI/AAAAAAAAB6E/55JZvYMBSk0/s1600/Paul+Ski-Doo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wSOSBfTRS3s/UOcslqDAGFI/AAAAAAAAB6E/55JZvYMBSk0/s320/Paul+Ski-Doo.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Another tradition we try to part take in is the "Ireland Cup" (Ireland is my Mother's maiden name). This is compromised of family members, young and old getting together for some street hockey. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NPKaTyQFsKc/UOctpXClP5I/AAAAAAAAB6c/w5owAikmZpU/s1600/Hockey+Game.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NPKaTyQFsKc/UOctpXClP5I/AAAAAAAAB6c/w5owAikmZpU/s320/Hockey+Game.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kDpGCpSDgtQ/UOctpZ6xrZI/AAAAAAAAB6Y/WEynWa_cxwQ/s1600/Hockey+Game1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kDpGCpSDgtQ/UOctpZ6xrZI/AAAAAAAAB6Y/WEynWa_cxwQ/s320/Hockey+Game1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Of course you can't have a holiday season in Newfoundland without a visit from Frosty.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r4bYpGIptLY/UOctqabS1LI/AAAAAAAAB6s/PeHn2Ddpg1U/s1600/Snowman.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r4bYpGIptLY/UOctqabS1LI/AAAAAAAAB6s/PeHn2Ddpg1U/s320/Snowman.jpg" width="320" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FV98Nk5348k/UOctqWbB9HI/AAAAAAAAB6o/MXYUiW0tRYs/s1600/Snow+Storm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<br />
<br />
But what would a geek post be without news of geekery! I was luckily enough to be on the nice list this year and did obtain some nice <a href="http://armorcast.com/store/index.php?cPath=121">Armorcast</a> terrain pieces. In fact it was enough to create an entire graveyard, mausoleums, outbuildings and all.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vJ5OAB8LZD0/UOt6seKppCI/AAAAAAAAB80/y3Xgk2ZGWHQ/s1600/Graveyard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="110" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vJ5OAB8LZD0/UOt6seKppCI/AAAAAAAAB80/y3Xgk2ZGWHQ/s320/Graveyard.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I have also made some progress since returning home. I have a unit of Order Knights for my Teutonic Order Impetus army almost complete and hoping to have a post on them later this week.<br />
<br />
Cheers and thanks for reading,<br />

With two small children of my own I can't imagine the sorrow and grief those families must be experiencing.</i></b><br />
<br />
With Christmas being right around the corner, the busyness of the season in in full swing. Parties, plays, parades, you name it, all kinds of wonderful events. Hence the reason for the tardiness between postings.<br />
<br />
In our household Christmas is a season of spending time family and with your loved ones. Being believers in the "Big Guy upstairs" .....God :-) we also take time to celebrate Christ's birth. Leading up to the big day our girls are getting anxious for the arrival of Santa.<br />
<br />
For those with small kids and may not have seen this yet but there is a website called <a href="http://www.portablenorthpole.com/home">Portable North Pole</a>. At this site you can upload a few pictures of your child and enter a few details and it creates a personalized video of Santa talking to your child. When I showed this to the girls they were besides themselves! <i>"Santa is talking to me!"</i> Emma said at one point in disbelief.<br />
<br />
It is with that in mind and the inspiration from a follow blogger <a href="http://geeklydigest.blogspot.ca/">Rab</a> that I take you to an afternoon of gaming with my eldest daughter Emma.<br />
<br />
Emma has always asked about my "little men" or "little toys" and has shown interest. One afternoon while her sister was napping and her Mother was running errands I introduced her to Daddy's gaming world. Here is how the afternoon went.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SsbPR4TFjjw/UNMBb-7CLtI/AAAAAAAABy8/5UFo4mILvSc/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SsbPR4TFjjw/UNMBb-7CLtI/AAAAAAAABy8/5UFo4mILvSc/s320/1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I sent up the board with a few houses and trees and then let Emma choose a few models to use. Much to my surprise she chose the half painted Legion of Everblight <a href="http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gallery/legion-of-everblight/units/blighted-swordsmen-abbot-champion">Abbott</a> model and a doggie to act as our own dog Abby.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5MSD4IZRLXc/UNMHRX-_QtI/AAAAAAAAB1M/XrczYrTrwYE/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5MSD4IZRLXc/UNMHRX-_QtI/AAAAAAAAB1M/XrczYrTrwYE/s320/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yQKRY4mXbHs/UNMFTODVJuI/AAAAAAAABz8/uHzAJmJalWU/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yQKRY4mXbHs/UNMFTODVJuI/AAAAAAAABz8/uHzAJmJalWU/s320/2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now it was time to get started. I noticed quickly that she enjoyed rolling different types of dice so I decided to my own spin on the D20 system. It should be noted that no model was harmed in this game and their were no deaths to wolves, spiders or people. The object was to try and "tickle" the wolves and spiders to make them happy. She is only four after all :-) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

The first thing Emma wanted to do was head to the house to see what
"Mommy" was making for supper. While on her way two sad wolves came into
town. Emma felt bad for them and wanted to cheer them up.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V12T_wGQAUY/UNMHdfu-gvI/AAAAAAAAB1c/Ohdk76pubyI/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V12T_wGQAUY/UNMHdfu-gvI/AAAAAAAAB1c/Ohdk76pubyI/s320/7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
But she was shy and called her "Dad" (Me) to help. Its quite amazing
what you will find out about your child by spending sometime having fun
with them :-)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LOYw335qVP8/UNMIMk8_cmI/AAAAAAAAB1k/xKZC9zj5lps/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>

Once she seen that the wolves were nice she decided help in the tickle fight.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LOYw335qVP8/UNMIMk8_cmI/AAAAAAAAB1k/xKZC9zj5lps/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LOYw335qVP8/UNMIMk8_cmI/AAAAAAAAB1k/xKZC9zj5lps/s320/10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
After this supper was ready (in game), Emma finished her meal and then went back outside. When she was playing in the backyard two sad spiders showed up that needed to be cheered up and this time she wasn't shy at all.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-k5hYVKA29KM/UNMLiUiliHI/AAAAAAAAB20/pQ-JGIz4y2Q/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-k5hYVKA29KM/UNMLiUiliHI/AAAAAAAAB20/pQ-JGIz4y2Q/s320/10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

She decided she wanted to help the spiders all by herself, with Abby. At the end of the day she had fun and I did as well. She enjoyed rolling the d20 to hit the target to be able to tickle it. Then she rolled D6 or D8 to see how happy they became. Suffice to say it was fun to see the game through the eyes of my four year old daughter.<br />
<br />
This will probably be my last post until the new year. With family and friends gathering it will be far to busy, but who knows I maybe able to sneak a short post.<br />
<br />
But until then Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays, Season Greetings and have a wonderful New Year.<br />

Due to some last minute business complications a few of the players were unable to make it. But the show must go on. To circumvent the issue Jason and Mark played two characters each.<br />
<br />
Jason brought Hrothgar the Wild Slayer.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HbonShosyGg/UMMu6iksHqI/AAAAAAAABk4/qnTJtc3Oe0s/s1600/Viking.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HbonShosyGg/UMMu6iksHqI/AAAAAAAABk4/qnTJtc3Oe0s/s320/Viking.jpg" width="205" /></a></div>
<br />
Mark brought Elowen the Wizard.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WcDeS7c2Qyg/UMMvFz1RFqI/AAAAAAAABlA/kP8GPtt6Am8/s1600/Wizard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WcDeS7c2Qyg/UMMvFz1RFqI/AAAAAAAABlA/kP8GPtt6Am8/s320/Wizard.jpg" width="153" /></a></div>
<br />
The players picked up where they left off, returning the surviving townsfolk back to Ironridge. After the townsfolk were safely with their families Alyanna and Orin went looking for information on their missing goblin comrade.<br />
<br />
After talking to the guardsman the players find out the Capt has been missing and has been acting strangely. They find the crazy ole kook Madame Zaga, who was babbling of the end of days and evil being in town. Shortly after Gareth, the old woodman the characters rescued in the first adventure finds them. He brings information that Gor-Don was taken to the Webbed forest. Wasting no time the heroes, accompanied with Gareth set out to find their goblin ally.<br />
<br />
When the adventures arrived at the edge of the Webbed forest Gareth informed them that he was unable to track them any further. Orin then surveyed the area and was able to pick up the trail, and followed it deeper into the woods.<br />
<br />
The Heroes arrived at a clearing, where they saw giant spiders and what looked like Gor-Don cocooned in the center. They could also see a cultist and the captain of the guard discussing something by a cavern entrance.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w_VSmqv-vC8/UMMz99Vxu2I/AAAAAAAABl8/ldZTEUWvdws/s1600/Forest1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w_VSmqv-vC8/UMMz99Vxu2I/AAAAAAAABl8/ldZTEUWvdws/s320/Forest1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The party rushed into battle to meet the many legged creatures head on. But the cultist and the Captain quickly evaded into the cavern.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QnTH0oGoJII/UMM0hY1veqI/AAAAAAAABmE/k9oQ6ay_DHc/s1600/Forest2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QnTH0oGoJII/UMM0hY1veqI/AAAAAAAABmE/k9oQ6ay_DHc/s320/Forest2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The spiders proved to be more of a challenge then expected for Orin. Alyanna advanced to aid the ranger. Gareth was having troubles of his own with the Brood Mother and was immobilized by her webbing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cEW7WkGavbM/UMM1GRLhFaI/AAAAAAAABmQ/Z6S5nx8Zz-A/s1600/Forest3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="207" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cEW7WkGavbM/UMM1GRLhFaI/AAAAAAAABmQ/Z6S5nx8Zz-A/s320/Forest3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The battle raged on until Hrothgar was able to cut a giant spider in half. Momentum seemed to shift as the Wild Slayer stared down the Brood Mother. With the aid of Alyanna the two were able to defeat the wretched Brood Mother. Orin and Elowen made short work of the remaining creepy crawler.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qsJptn7_NIM/UMM2aB8l5CI/AAAAAAAABmY/ITz7NjS0e5s/s1600/Forest4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qsJptn7_NIM/UMM2aB8l5CI/AAAAAAAABmY/ITz7NjS0e5s/s1600/Forest4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="198" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qsJptn7_NIM/UMM2aB8l5CI/AAAAAAAABmY/ITz7NjS0e5s/s320/Forest4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The adventures released Gor-don from his cocoon but find the goblin was weak and wounded. Gareth offered to take Gor-Don back to Ironridge for assistance and the two leave the party to return to town. (Ken who plays Gor-Don, was one of the players unable to make it). <br />
<br />
The others take chase after the Captain and the cultist into the cavern.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eMK8o2RkEOE/UMM5p0w_MXI/AAAAAAAABnU/RPkLsPNnToM/s1600/Forest5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eMK8o2RkEOE/UMM5p0w_MXI/AAAAAAAABnU/RPkLsPNnToM/s320/Forest5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The heroes arrived underground to find a horde of skeletons and mercenaries advancing toward them. <i>"You fools, you will never stop us!"</i> The cultist hissed from the back of the cavern.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fNGa1ZEVPmc/UMM8L42Y_sI/AAAAAAAABoQ/hQKdfDB7S0U/s1600/Underground1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="263" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fNGa1ZEVPmc/UMM8L42Y_sI/AAAAAAAABoQ/hQKdfDB7S0U/s320/Underground1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Seeing the enemies strength was in numbers, Orin loosed multiple arrows, dropping three of the mercenaries. Hrothgar charged the remaining mercs swinging his axe wildly, carving up a number of the them. The skeletal warriors marched on the wild slayer surrounding him.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AzLjYl15F8g/UMM9IftO_tI/AAAAAAAABoY/QhbrigkJdRM/s1600/Underground2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AzLjYl15F8g/UMM9IftO_tI/AAAAAAAABoY/QhbrigkJdRM/s320/Underground2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
As the adventures were locked in the heat of battle the Captain and the cultist used the magical gateway to make their escape. <i>"You fools played right into our trap. Now Ironridge will fall!"</i> The cultist screamed.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ph5mftfkwOo/UMM-cOITjsI/AAAAAAAABog/TDGMSAdPOXY/s1600/Underground3_escape.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ph5mftfkwOo/UMM-cOITjsI/AAAAAAAABog/TDGMSAdPOXY/s320/Underground3_escape.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
With the news of a trap, the Heroes push the intensity of the battle. Elowen called forth her magical prowess and struck the skeletal horde with her magical lightning. The effect rippled through the horde crumbling a number of then where they stood. Alyanna sang the song of the moon and banished those that remained.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JAP3AyDsv3w/UMM_W0dBIeI/AAAAAAAABoo/LohIw1-I38g/s1600/Underground4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JAP3AyDsv3w/UMM_W0dBIeI/AAAAAAAABoo/LohIw1-I38g/s320/Underground4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The remaining mercenaries fled in any direction they could find and our Heroes hurried to the magical device. <i>"Hmm, interesting....how did they......Ahhh, inscriptions....Summa, Summma Lamma Tuiss" </i>Elowen investigated the gateway and discovered its secrets.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N0fIto2ttnM/UMNAjEeKrXI/AAAAAAAABo0/HZTqQKIhlRA/s1600/Underground5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N0fIto2ttnM/UMNAjEeKrXI/AAAAAAAABo0/HZTqQKIhlRA/s320/Underground5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The adventures gathered together while Elowen launched the magical gateway and teleported them to another destination.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rt6qSgOtXDc/UMNGJitTs0I/AAAAAAAABpw/1dhP8fX87Ko/s1600/Underground6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">.<img border="0" height="254" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rt6qSgOtXDc/UMNGJitTs0I/AAAAAAAABpw/1dhP8fX87Ko/s320/Underground6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The adventures were ported to the outskirts of Ironridge were the cultists were invading the town in full force. Innocent civilians were seen running in horror from the attack.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JoOV84AvEyk/UMNGtYVkkxI/AAAAAAAABp4/_NT19FByMtI/s1600/Invasion0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JoOV84AvEyk/UMNGtYVkkxI/AAAAAAAABp4/_NT19FByMtI/s320/Invasion0.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Hrothgar wasted no time to aid the town and charged the Earth Elemental. With one mighty blow the wild slayer crushed the elemental sending it back to the ground from which it came. The Captain and another cultist entered the fray with Hrothgar.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4ucbf04hmck/UMNKfZ1Zp-I/AAAAAAAABq0/euybBMdzjgg/s1600/Invasion2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="144" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4ucbf04hmck/UMNKfZ1Zp-I/AAAAAAAABq0/euybBMdzjgg/s320/Invasion2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The cult leader Valek and his guardsman advanced the bridge bringing death the crazy Madame Zaga.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hgkhMBJ_Ong/UMNKzdhH1LI/AAAAAAAABq8/dNlDRjsuqwA/s1600/Invasion1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hgkhMBJ_Ong/UMNKzdhH1LI/AAAAAAAABq8/dNlDRjsuqwA/s320/Invasion1a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Alyanna and Elowen focused on the Captain taking him down and discovering him as an imposter. Hrothgar attempted to protect one of the townsfolk but the cultists arrow was deathly true.<br />

<br />
Valek and his guardsman continued to the town keep were he bashed at the door with a crazed strength.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Hrothgar and Orin dashed to the bridge only to be intercepted a cultist and Valek's guardsman. A deadly accurate arrow proved more then the guardsman could handle.<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Alyanna brought down her sword of light on the vile cultist ending its existence and continued to the injured civilians to offer magical healing. Orin ran to the keep to intercept Valek, but not before the cult leader was able to gain entry into the building. With a shout of battle rage Hrothgar smashed his axe over the head of the last cultist, cracking hit skull wide open.<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The Wild Slayer and Ranger rushed to the keep but not in time. The ground shook and the sky grew dark with the clouds hazed in a redish glow.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EaHg56E3hOE/UMNWS0O5RfI/AAAAAAAABsQ/zjM3ggphdNs/s1600/Invasion9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="231" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EaHg56E3hOE/UMNWS0O5RfI/AAAAAAAABsQ/zjM3ggphdNs/s320/Invasion9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
A foul scream was heard from the top of the keep. <i>"Mortals...the dark one lives, nothing can stop us." </i><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3g64i9iIOHM/UMNXPsVvCxI/AAAAAAAABsk/zAn-UBednNk/s1600/Invasion11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="289" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3g64i9iIOHM/UMNXPsVvCxI/AAAAAAAABsk/zAn-UBednNk/s320/Invasion11.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The creature screamed again in a chaotic frenzy and took to the sky. Orin rose his bow and loosed an arrow at the dark winged being. The arrow hit only to bounce off the creatures hide. The creature continued on its path over the horizon.<br />
<br />
Alyanna, Orin and the others aided the injured civilians. They discovered that an ancient artifact was buried under the keep and it must have been what Valek was after.<br />
<br />
<i>"Have you seen Gor-don or Gareth?"</i> Alyanna asked the others......<br />
